The people of Azerbaijan made the right choice in favor of Ilham Aliyev, Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov said at a press conference on April 11, APA reports.

“The voting process at the presidential elections in Azerbaijan are held in fully transparent way. I have been to polling stations situated in most districts of Baku city. Today in the morning before commencement of the election, when I approached the station I was surprised. 

As of 17:00, 69.93 percent of voters, 3,716,135 persons cast their ballots in Azerbaijan's presidential election, the Election Information Center of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) said in a message.

“I am sure that the presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be a continuation of the country`s successful development and will bring the nation a greater success,” said head of the Supreme Electoral Council of Turkey Sadi Guven as he met with chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloghlu cast his vote at the polling station set up at the country’s embassy in Moscow in connection with the presidential election in Azerbaijan.

Nilza de Sena (MP, Portugal), special co-ordinator and head of the short-term OSCE observer mission deployed to Azerbaijan’s presidential election, said she hopes for calm and peaceful election day in Azerbaijan.

Voters actively vote in the presidential election in Azerbaijan, Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova told on April 11.

Azerbaijan’s parliament speaker Ogtay Asadov has voted at polling station No 22 of Nasimi-Sabayil constituency No 23.

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov has given a press conference at Sechkiler Information Center as the presidential election started across Azerbaijan at 8 a.m.

"Everyone can contact the CEC and the organization's hotline on any matter," Mazahir Panahov, chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), told APA.

A delegation of Shanghai Cooperation Organization led by Secretary-General Rashid Alimov has visited Azerbaijan`s Central Election Commission. Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov informed the delegation about the preparations for the presidential elections.

Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev has met with head of the election observation mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Corien Jonker.Abdullayev highlighted the activity and history of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, and spoke about the judicial and legal reforms successfully carried out in the country over the past years.

A delegation led by Alina Russu, chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Moldova, will observe the presidential elections in Azerbaijan on April 11. The Moldovan CEC observers will visit Azerbaijan on April 10. They will monitor several polling stations on election day.
