Program of Putins visit to Uzbekistan made public

Russian President Vladimir Putin will officially visit Tashkent Oct. 18-19, press service of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in a statement.

During Putin’s visit to Tashkent, educational and interregional forums, groundbreaking ceremony for a nuclear power plant and other events will be held.

At the talks between the two presidents, the state of Uzbek-Russian relations, the prospects for strengthening strategic partnership and alliance, the implementation of new joint projects and programs in various fields will be considered.

The presidents will also discuss topical international issues, including ensuring stability and security in the region and promoting the peace process in Afghanistan.

As part of the visit, for the first time, a joint Educational Forum and the Uzbekistan-Russia Forum of Interregional Cooperation will be held. A groundbreaking ceremony for a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan is planned.

Following the talks, the Joint Statement of the Heads of State will be adopted and the Economic Cooperation Program for 2019–2024, the Program of Cooperation in the Cultural and Humanitarian Sphere for 2019–2021, the agreement on the establishment and operation of branches of the leading universities of Russia in Uzbekistan, the Road Map on the creation of the Suffa International Radio Astronomy Observatory and a number of other important documents will be signed.

During the visit, it is expected to sign major investment and trade contracts between regions and business circles of Uzbekistan and Russia.
